Categoría 3ra. de administración sin título de Bibliotecario (Estudiante avanzado):
$ 6.148,33 (Sueldo) + $ 615 (Presentismo) = $ 6.763,33 y el neto de bolsillo $ 5.478,30

      La Biblioteca Universitaria ha sido seleccionada por el Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO) dentro de la Convocatoria 2014 de ayudas para la Promoción de Empleo Joven e Implantación de la Garantía Juvenil en I+D+I por su Proyecto Paleontología de la Macaronesia. Espacio Virtual (PAMEV).
      El proyecto pretende la puesta en marcha de un museo virtual al que puedan acceder tanto especialistas con fines investigadores, como el público en general. Inicialmente, se persigue incluir en este museo virtual modelos digitales en tres dimensiones de los ejemplares de una colección paleontológica importante, amplia y diversa. En un segundo paso también se incluirían las imágenes tridimensionales de una colección zoológica, así como datos resultantes de investigaciones llevadas a cabo en la región.
      El proyecto PAMEV incluye la creación de dos plazas de personal técnico de apoyo, una para personas tituladas en Ciencias del Mar y otra para personas tituladas en Informática o Telecomunicaciones. Esta última plaza no ha sido cubierta todavía, y la ULPGC publicará en su boletín de diciembre una nueva convocatoria de la misma, con condiciones idénticas a las de la pasada convocatoria. El plazo para la solicitud será de una semana a partir de su publicación, por lo que es muy importante para poder optar a esta plaza tener en cuenta el requisito de inscripción previa en el fichero del Sistema Nacional de Garantía Juvenil (menores de 30 años sin ocupación).
      El pasado 3 de noviembre de 2015 se publicaron en el Boletín Oficial de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (páginas de la 40 a la 44) y en su portal web las bases para optar a cada una de las plazas que la ULPGC obtuvo en esta convocatoria.
      Las ayudas tendrán una duración de dos años y están destinadas a mejorar la formación y la empleabilidad del personal de I+D+I.

      Charles Warren Librarian for American History (Harvard University, Massachusetts)
      Reporting to the Head, Western Languages Division, the Charles Warren Librarian for American History develops the flagship collection of materials relating to American history. The Librarian considers not only materials to be owned by Harvard, but also develops collaborative relationships with other institutions to extend access to information. Working closely with librarians in research, teaching, and learning, the incumbent plays an important role in the educational mission of Harvard University by establishing strong relationships with American History faculty and students, and connecting them to the collections, resources, and services that meet their research, teaching and learning needs. The Charles Warren Librarian for American History will be a member of a team of librarians in the Western Languages Division. Serves as the primary selector for library materials, in all types and formats, in the subjects of American history and American studies generally. Interacts with faculty and students to develop collections that support research and teaching. Collaborates with other Harvard librarians in developing a university-wide collection which incorporates acquisitions on a coordinated basis. Coordinates with Houghton Library, the University Archives, and the broader special collections and archival community at Harvard on the acquisition of primary source materials. Partners with other institutions to develop a coordinated North American collection which relies on shared collections and expertise. Serves as the library liaison to the Charles Warren Center for Studies in American History. Participates on the Administrative Committee of the Center. In collaboration with library colleagues, provides specialized research services to students and faculty in Americana fields. May design anddeliver library instruction sessions for students in American History. Partners with faculty to develop library support for teaching, specific to the needs of their students. Serves as a library research contact to the History Department. Makes funding allocation recommendations for Americana materials. Participates in the formation and review of written collection development policy for Americana collections. Is knowledgeable about trends in scholarly communication and open access and works effectively with the Office of Scholarly Communication to serve as a liaison to faculty and graduate students on this issue. As part of a team, works with colleagues in Information and Technical Services to design processing routines that result in rapid, efficient, and effective access to scholarly acquisitions. As part of a highly collaborative team, evaluates Americana acquisitions and collections for preservation and storage decisions. Participates in national initiatives related to bibliographic resources in American studies. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Basic qualifications are the qualifications a candidate must possess to be considered for this position.       The Marston Science Library at the University of Florida seeks a creative and service-oriented informatics professional to develop a campus-wide library-based informatics service initiative of data-driven discovery and analytics. The Informatics Librarian is a tenure track library faculty position with responsibilities that include assisting faculty, staff and students with appropriate data mining tools, collaborating on analytic aspects related to data design, and supporting the communication of results and predictive analysis through visualization tools. Additional responsibilities include finding and accessing data upon request; assisting in data organization for improved reuse and sharing; and providing programming consultation services. As a member of a dynamic team, responsibilities also include providing research assistance, instruction, training, and collection management to support initiatives dependent upon informatics and data science. Provides data and network analysis support services for faculty, staff and students in assigned departments and serves as liaison to the UF Informatics Institute. Provides interdisciplinary information consultation services in a variety of modes, designs workshops to promote data literacy, performs course-integrated instruction and participates in the department’s teaching program. The position is responsible for special projects as assigned, such as new service development and evaluation, and development of web-based resources. The librarian works collaboratively in group efforts and maintains professional relationships with faculty, students and colleagues. The librarian will work collaboratively with the bioinformatics librarian, Data Management Librarian and Digital Scholarship Librarian, and Data Management/Curation Task Force to develop campus-wide support. The library encourages staff participation in reaching management decisions and consequently the Informatics Librarian will serve on various committees and teams.
